Team Up Philly receives $20,000 community grant from the District Attorney’s Office

We are proud to announce that Team Up Philly has been selected to receive a Community Organization Grant from the District Attorney’s Forfeiture Fund in support of our work with female juvenile offenders and anti-violence initiatives.

District Attorney Larry Krasner presents Marian Fischer Pearlman, Executive Director of Team Up Philly with grant award.

The DAO’s violence prevention grant initiative is derived from the lawful and appropriate use of civil asset forfeiture. The funding is distributed and audited by the Philadelphia Foundation. Civil asset forfeiture funds are seized by law enforcement from criminals, and these funds are redistributed to community-based organizations doing violence prevention work in the same zip code where the assets were seized. DA Krasner and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office remain committed to supporting survivors and communities by funding anti-violence and anti-drug community-based organizations.

The Philadelphia Foundation, in partnership with the DAO, has awarded nearly one million dollars in violence prevention funding to dozens of local community-based 501 (c)(3) organizations since May of 2021.
